How much money do you need for Thailand? Well…I’m sure that this question comes to your mind before going to the country of the white elephant.
Thailand has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia, mainly due to the price. Indeed clothing, food, or transport are very cheap here. However, before you read this article till the end, remember that the expenses for a stay in Thailand depend primarily on the form and length of the trip, and what you want to see there.
This time, Globe in the Hat shows you some price examples while backpacking trip in Thailand.
Let’s start with the cuisine, because it’s the one that stole the hearts of many tourists from around the world. That’s not surprising! Actually, Thai food is not only cheap, but also tasty and very nutritious.
You will pay approximately 40 THB for one portion of street food (around 1,25$). At this price you will get, for example, half a chicken or fish. You’re gonna pay an additional 10 THB for rice (about 0,31$). Sellers also very often give a glass with ice cubes and drinking water directly to your meals without having to order it.
And, what’s more, sometimes you will also find food, for which you pay only 30 THB (about 1$), but it’s not so widely available. In most places the basic price is still 40 THB.
On the other hand, in restaurants and cafes, everything is at least twice as expensive as food stalls on the street side. Depending on your order, prices range between 80 THB – 200 THB (around 2,50 – 6 $). So if you want to save a bit, and at the same time feel the real atmosphere of local cuisine…street food is a real hit.
Ps: Remember that Thai food is really tempting and tasty, and that’s what it will consume most of your budget 😉
And what are the prices of public transport? Compared with other means of transport, taxi (including a motorcycle taxi) is quite expensive – from 50 THB to 300 THB and more (1,50 – 10$). Their price obviously depends on how far you want to go.
How about the bus? It’s quite hardcore, but a cheap version of public transport. One way bus ticket costs from 6,5 to 15 THB and you can very easily get almost anywhere. Minus? Traffic jams, traffic jams and once again traffic jams! Nevertheless, for sentimental reasons to the local atmosphere of Thai life, we highly recommend it! 😉
On the other hand, metro tickets (MRT and BTS) are quite more expensive. Depending on the number of stops, you’re gonna pay around 40 THB. However, despite the costs, it’s definitely worth it – after all, metro is the fastest available transport in Bangkok.
And what about cheap accommodation? There is a way! In Bangkok, locals hosted us absolutely free of charge.
Users of the internationally known portal accept foreigners to their homes, offering them a place to sleep, often also spending time with them, showing interesting places in their city and just having fun. And it was in our case.
Remember, however, that these hosts also have their plans and responsibilities, so very often the offered accommodation only for 3-4 nights. What’s more, in popular cities, for the sake of the high demand of tourists, it’s more difficult to find a good host with a free place to sleep. So if this time you have no luck, chin up! Accommodation in Thailand is not expensive either. You can easily find a place in one of the hostels – the price starts from 200 THB per night per person (about 6$). Shh! However, in such backpackers’ places, especially watch out on your belongings.
For peace of mind, we also recommend you to use your own sleeping bag or a thin blanket. Such accommodation is very often not the cleanest one.
The cost of accommodation also depends on the district in which the hotel/hostel is located. The most popular districts in Bangkok are: Khao San Road, Chao Phraya Riverside, or Silom / Sathon.
Shopping lovers traveling to Bangkok, certainly can’t miss this place. Of course we’re talking about the popular Chatuchak market, where the prices of clothes and accessories varies around 80-300 THB.
Minus? The largest market in the city is open only on weekends: Friday from 18:00 to 24:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 18:00.
What’s more, temples are also must-see places on your trip to Thailand. There are at least a few hundred in Bangkok! For an entry ticket to one of them you will pay from 30 to 100 THB (about 1-3$).

Hal pertama yang diceritakan kebanyakan orang adalah makanan Thailand yang sangat murah. Benarkah begitu? Hmm…tidak hanya murah, tapi juga porsi yang sangat banyak.
Kisaran harga street food yaitu 40 Baht (+- Rp 17.000). Dengan uang segitu kamu bisa membeli separuh ayam, atau ikan lele yang super besar. Jika ingin tambah nasi, satu porsi sebesar 10 Baht. Biasanya penjual langsung memberikan satu gelas es batu dan air minum tanpa harus memesannya. Ada juga makanan yang hanya 30 Baht, namun lumayan susah mencarinya.
Di restoran atau cafe, harga dua kali lipat lebih mahal. Sekitar 80 Baht hingga 200 Baht, tergantung menu yang kamu pesan. Jika kamu ingin berhemat dan merasakan masakan yang Thailand banget, street food is the best option. Tapi ingat, makanan Thailand sangat menggoda dan lezat, siapkan uang lebih. Siapa tahu khilaf. 😀
Jika kamu traveling menggunakan transportasi umum. Taxi dan ojek online lumayan mahal, mulai 50 Baht hingga 300 Baht bahkan lebih. Tergantung seberapa jauh kamu pergi. Globe in the Hat menyarankan menggunakan bis jika memang ingin menghemat biaya perjalanan. Mulai 6.5 Baht hingga 15 Baht.
Ingin lebih cepat dan nyaman, MRT dan BTS bisa kamu pilih, tapi hanya di Bangkok saja. Harga sekitar 40 Baht satu kali jalan.
Kemudian, untuk penginapan kami memilih mencari di salah satu website terkenal untuk mencari tuan rumah ketika traveling. Sembilan hari di Thailand kami tidak mengeluarkan uang untuk penginapan alias gratis.
Tapi, biasanya tuan rumah kedatangan tamu dari berbagai macam negara, jika jadwal tamu sedang ramai biasanya kamu hanya diberi waktu dua hingga tiga hari saja. Hari berikutnya kamu bisa mencari teman baru disekitar destinasi yang ingin kamu datangi.
Jika tidak beruntung mendapatkan teman dan terpaksa untuk mencari penginapan. Biaya untuk hostel murah di Thailand sekitar 200 Baht (+- Rp 86.000). Sangat murah sekali, tapi kamu akan tidur bersama dengan wisatawan lain. Tenang, tidak satu tempat tidur, melainkan di dalam satu ruangan dengan tempat tidur yang terpisah.
Tips : Karena banyak orang, jaga barang bawaan dengan sangat hati-hati, terutama barang berharga seperti emas, dompet, dll. Bisa jadi salah satu dari mereka ingin berbuat jahat.
Selain itu, kami menyarankan untuk selalu membawa seprei dan karung bantal pribadi dimanapun kamu ingin tidur. Sangat memungkinkan tempat tersebut kotor walaupun terlihat bersih. Bakteri dan penyakit kulit bisa menular kapan saja dari orang lain.
Biaya akomodasi juga tergantung pada wilayah kota tempat hotel / hostel berada. Wilayah paling populer di Bangkok adalah: Khao San Road, Chao Phraya Riverside, czy Silom/Sathon.

Kamu bisa menemukan banyak destinasi wisata, ada ratusan untuk destinasi wisata seperti candi, harga tiket masuk sekitar 30 Baht hingga 100 Baht.
Pengeluaran tersebut bisa jadi lebih murah dan lebih mahal, tergantung harga tukar mata uang saat ini.

Tajlandia stała się jednym z najbardziej popularnych miejsc turystycznych w Azji, głównie ze względu na cenę. Odzież, żywność, czy transport są tutaj rzeczywiście bardzo tanie. Zanim jednak przeczytacie ten artykuł do końca, pamiętajcie, że wydatki na pobyt w Tajlandii zależą przede wszystkim od formy i długości wyjazdu, oraz tego, co tam chcecie zobaczyć.

W pierwszej kolejności zacznijmy od kuchni, bo to przecież ona skradła serca turystów z całego świata. Nic dziwnego! Tajskie jedzenie jest nie tylko tanie, ale i smaczne i treściwe. Za jedną porcję ulicznego jedzenia zapłacicie mniej więcej 40 batów (ok. 4,50 zł). W tej cenie dostaniecie np. pół kurczaka lub rybę. Ryż to dodatkowe 10 batów (ok. 1 zł). Sprzedawcy bardzo często bezpośrednio do posiłku podają też szklankę z kostkami lodu i wodę pitną bez konieczności jej zamawiania.
Co prawda znajdą się też i takie przysmaki za które zapłacicie jedyne 30 batów (ok. 3.50 zł), jednak nie są one tak bardzo dostępne. W większości miejsc cena dominująca to nadal 40 batów.
Zupełnie inna sprawa wygląda w restauracjach i kawiarniach, w których wszystko jest co najmniej dwa razy droższe niż w przydrożnych budkach. Ceny wahają się miedzy 80 batów a 200 batów (od 9-23 zł), w zależności od zamówionego menu. Jeśli więc chcecie nieco zaoszczędzić, a przy okazji poczuć prawdziwy klimat tamtejszej kuchni – uliczne jedzenie to prawdziwy strzał w dziesiątkę.
Pst! Pamiętajcie, że tajskie jedzenie jest naprawdę bardzo kuszące i smaczne, i to właśnie ono pochłonie większość Waszego budżetu 😉
A jak wyglądają ceny transportu publicznego? Taksówki (w tym taxi na motocyklach) są dość drogie – od 50 batów do 300 batów wzwyż (6-35 zł). Ich cena oczywiście zależy od tego, jak daleko chcecie pojechać.
A może jednak autobus? Hej ho przygodo! To dość hardocorowa, ale za to tania wersja transportu publicznego. Za jednorazowy bilet autobusowy zapłacicie od 6.5 do 15 batów (0,75-1,75 zł) i z łatwością dojedziecie praktycznie wszędzie. Minus? Korki, korki, i jeszcze raz korki! Niemniej jednak, z sentymentu do lokalnego klimatu tajskiego życia, gorąco polecamy!
Za metro czyli MRT i BTS zapłacicie nieco więcej, bo ok. 40 batów w jedną stronę (w zależności od ilości przejechanych przystanków). Mimo to, zdecydowanie jest to cena warta zachodu – w końcu jest to najszybszy z dostępnych transportów w Bangkoku.
A co z tanim noclegiem? Jest na to rada! Przez 9 nocy zostaliśmy goszczeni przez lokalnych mieszkańców i to zupełnie za darmoszkę.
Użytkownicy znanego na całym świecie portalu przyjmują do swojego domu obcokrajowców, oferując im miejsce do spania, często także spędzając z nimi czas, pokazując ciekawe miejsca w ich mieście i po prostu dobrze się bawiąc. I tak było w naszym przypadku.
Pamiętajcie jednak, że także ci gospodarze mają swoje plany i obowiązki, więc bardzo często oferowane noclegi zamykają się do 3- 4 nocy. Co więcej, w popularnych miastach, przez wzgląd na duży popyt turystów trudniej jest o dobrego gospodarza z wolnym miejscem. Jeśli więc tym razem nie macie szczęścia, głowa do góry! Noclegi w Tajlandii do drogich też nie należą. Z łatwością znajdziecie miejsce w jednym z hosteli, których cena zaczyna się już od 200 batów za noc od osoby (ok. 23 zł). Pst! Jednak w takich backpackerskich miejscach szczególnie pilnujcie swojego dobrobytu.
Dla spokoju ducha, radzimy też korzystać ze swojego śpiwora lub prześcieradła. Takie miejsca noclegowe bardzo często nie należą do najczystszych.
Koszt zakwaterowania zależy również od dzielnicy miasta w jakiej znajduje się hotel/hostel. Najbardziej popularne dystrykty w Bangkoku to: Khao San Road, Chao Phraya Riverside, czy Silom/Sathon.
To teraz czas na zakupowe szaleństwo!
Miłośnicy zakupów podróżujący do Bangkoku, z pewnością nie mogą ominąć tego miejsca. A mowa oczywiście o popularnym targu Chatuchak, gdzie cena ubrań i akcesoriów waha się w okolicach 80-300 batów (ok. 9-30 zł).
Minus? Ten największy targ w mieście jest otwarty tylko w weekendy: w piątki od 18:00-24:00, a w soboty i w niedziele od 9:00-18:00.
Co więcej na Waszej must see liście z pewnością znajdą się też świątynie, których w samym Bangkoku jest co najmniej kilkaset. Za bilet wstępu do jednej z nich zapłacicie od 30 batów do 100 batów (ok. 3,50 zł ~ 11 zł).
W zależności od aktualnych kursów walut, przedstawione ceny mogą się nieco różnić. Ale przyznajcie…i tak nie jest źle, prawda? W takim razie, wysokich lotów i do zobaczenia w Tajlandii!
